Terms of Service

1. Overview

Arvyn ("we," "us," "our") operates a local task marketplace that connects people who need tasks done ("Task Posters") with people who complete tasks ("Task Helpers"). By using Arvyn, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Arvyn.

2. Arvyn Is a Marketplace

Arvyn is a platform that facilitates connections between users. Arvyn does not perform tasks, employ Task Helpers, or guarantee outcomes. Arvyn is not a service provider. All tasks are performed by independent individuals acting on their own behalf.

No employer-employee, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship exists between Arvyn and any user. Task Helpers are independent contractors solely responsible for their own actions, taxes, and compliance with applicable laws.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts in your jurisdiction. By creating an account, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you meet these requirements.

4. User Responsibilities

Task Posters are responsible for providing accurate task descriptions, setting fair prices, and reviewing completed work honestly. Task Posters must not post tasks that involve illegal, dangerous, or prohibited activities.

Task Helpers are responsible for completing tasks as described, acting professionally, and communicating clearly. Task Helpers must not accept tasks they cannot or do not intend to complete.

5. Posting Tasks

When you post a task, you set the description, price, and timing. Once confirmed, your payment is authorized. Your task becomes visible to nearby users who may choose to accept it. Arvyn does not guarantee that any task will be accepted or completed.

6. Accepting Tasks

When you accept a task, you are committing to complete it as described. If you are unable to complete the task, you should communicate promptly. Failure to complete accepted tasks may result in account restrictions or termination.

7. Payments and Fees

Payment is authorized when a Task Poster confirms a task. Funds are held securely and are not released until the Task Poster approves the completed work. If no one accepts the task, the authorization is released and no charge occurs.

Arvyn facilitates payment processing through third-party payment providers. Arvyn is not a bank and does not hold funds directly. Arvyn may charge service fees, which will be disclosed before confirmation.

8. Disputes and Payment Holds

If a Task Poster flags an issue before approving, payment remains on hold while Arvyn reviews the situation. Arvyn may mediate disputes between users at its sole discretion. Arvyn reserves the right to make final decisions regarding payment release, holds, or refunds.

Arvyn is not obligated to resolve disputes but may choose to do so in the interest of fairness.

9. Prohibited Activities

You may not use Arvyn for any illegal, fraudulent, harmful, or prohibited purpose. For a full list, see our Acceptable Use Policy.

10. Termination

Arvyn may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time. Termination does not affect any obligations that arose before termination, including pending payments.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Arvyn is not liable for any damages, injuries, losses, theft, property damage, or disputes arising from the use of the platform or from interactions between users.

Arvyn does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or completion of any task. Arvyn does not verify the identity, background, or qualifications of any user beyond basic account requirements.

Arvyn's total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to Arvyn in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Arvyn and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these Terms, or your interactions with other users.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Hays County, Texas.

14. Changes to These Terms

Arvyn may update these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
