Payment Terms
Last updated: April 9, 2026
This page explains how money moves on Arvyn. We want you to understand exactly when you are charged, when funds are held, and when payment is released.
Authorization vs. Charge
When you confirm a task, your payment method is authorized for the task amount. This means your bank or card issuer reserves the funds, but the money has not been taken yet.
You are only charged when someone accepts your task and begins working on it. If no one accepts, the authorization is released and no money leaves your account.
Funds Are Held Securely
Once charged, your funds are held securely by our payment processor. The person completing the task does not receive payment until you approve the completed work. This protects you as the Task Poster and gives the Task Helper confidence that real funds are committed.
When Payment Is Released
Payment is released to the Task Helper only after you, the Task Poster, review the completed work and approve it. You are always in control of this step. Arvyn will never release payment without your approval, except in cases of dispute resolution (see below).
Payment flow
You confirm your task
Payment is authorized on your card.
Someone accepts
Your card is charged. Funds are held securely.
Task is completed
The Task Helper marks it as done.
You approve the work
You review and confirm completion.
Funds are released
Payment goes to the Task Helper.
What Happens If...
No one accepts your task
The authorization on your card is released. You are not charged. No money leaves your account.
You cancel a task
If you cancel before someone accepts, the authorization is released immediately. If you cancel after someone has accepted and started working, Arvyn may review the situation and determine whether a full or partial refund is appropriate.
There is a dispute
If you flag an issue before approving, payment remains on hold. Arvyn will review the situation and work with both parties to reach a fair resolution. Arvyn reserves the right to release, hold, or refund payment at its sole discretion during dispute resolution.
The Task Helper does not complete the task
If the task is not completed, you are not required to approve. Payment will not be released. Arvyn may cancel the task and release the funds back to you.
Service Fees
Arvyn may charge service fees for facilitating tasks and processing payments. Any applicable fees will be clearly displayed before you confirm your task. Fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
Payment Processing
All payments are processed through third-party payment providers such as Stripe. Arvyn does not store your full card details. Arvyn is not a bank, financial institution, or money transmitter. We facilitate transactions between users through licensed payment processors.
For Task Helpers: Getting Paid
If you complete a task and the Task Poster approves the work, payment is released to your connected payout account. Payout timing depends on your payment provider and may take 1 to 5 business days. You are responsible for any taxes owed on income earned through Arvyn.
